Mørk could celebrate on Thursday night after preparing for the first Olympic final of his career. Most everything else is won. Now the gold that has been in her mind for a long time, is left.
– We have been waiting for this for twelve years. I have been involved for twelve years. We are very proud and happy, says Mørk to NTB.
Only Camilla Herrem and Katrine Lunde in the Norwegian team have been in an Olympic final before. After gold in 2008 and 2012, the last two Games have led to bronze.
Mørk had to sit out the group game against Slovenia in Paris due to a calf strain. The same injury caused her problems in last year’s WC final. Things are better now, she promises.
– I can manage one more game. The physics could be better, but now you have to leave everything you have on the field. It’s going well, says the 33-year-old.
Mørk will make his 192nd international appearance on Saturday. Over the past 14 years, Mørk has struggled with many injuries and undergone several operations.

– I have a little pain in my calf, but it’s not something that stops me from playing or that stops me a lot. It’s good to feel. I am getting a lot of good help, she said.
Regardless of the result, Thorir Hergeirsson has secured Norway’s 16th championship medal in his time as national team manager (since 2009). He believes Mørk has more than enough to give on Saturday.
– She has to send out the last thing she has. It has been a challenging balancing act for her for a long time. Now this is the last fight for a while. I expect that she will be able to send out a lot of will and motivation, says Hergeirsson to NTB.
The Olympic final against host nation France will begin at 3pm.
