Comedy and Music: “Love Actually!”

Last Friday the United Methodist Church organized a highly moving evening with two experienced artists. One, Torsten Hebel, is a comedian, cabaret artist, actor and – attention: theologian! The other, Klaus-André Eickhoff, sits at the piano and sings heartwarmingly about small everyday life and big feelings. One moment you’ll be laughing in tears, the next you’ll be deeply touched by the beauty of a world-changing force – be careful, pathos! – of the love!
The two very different artists called their joint program “Love Actually!” In a crazy and self-deprecating manner, Hebel and Eickhoff examined the big questions in life. Why are we here? What is life actually about? The fact that they take these questions seriously and don’t just fuss over them is the great strength of their program. The longing within us – where does it come from? And maybe she can be breastfed after all?
Torsten Hebel and Klaus-André Eickhoff dared to think outside the box and looked for answers in a humorous and authentic way. Despite all the humor and irony, this goes deep under the skin. That’s exactly what made this program so unique. For the visitors, it was a feast for the laughing muscles – but also for the heart and soul.
