Comedian Phil Jerrod (42) died

The British comedian Phil Jerrod is known for his rich lyrical observations and tirades, has died of cancer, 42 years old.

It reports The Guardian, who cites his management Off the Kerb.

Management says that Jerrod died in his home with his wife Becky by his side. They describe him as a “dear friend of ours, an incredibly kind and talented man.”

The comedian has been hailed on social media, including by stand-up comedian Dane Baptiste (39), who called him a “fantastic comedian”.

During his career, Jerrod performed at several stand-up clubs and festivals across the UK.

A twitter message from one of the stand-up clubs, Cardiff’s Glee Club, he describes as “warm, supportive, and a fantastic comedian who always helped fill our places with laughter”.

His stand-up career began in 2012, and in 2015 he won the award for best debutant at the Leicester Comedy Festival.
