With the aim of discouraging illegal migration, comedian Carlos Villagrán, known in Latin America for his famous character Kiko from the series El Chavo del 8, asked Latin citizens not to cross Mexico’s northern border with the United States illegally.
Through a video released by the United States Embassy in Mexico, Kiko recommended to those seeking to emigrate to the north not to endanger their lives by carrying out this action illegally.

The video went viral on Twitter. (Video: Twitter/@AssLatam).
“Hello guys, first of all, shut up, shut up, shut up, you make me desperate! I have something very important to tell you, do not cross the border of the United States, because your father, your mother, your uncle, the dog, the cat, the parakeet, everyone may be in danger, it is better to cross legally. If you do, I do like you,” the comedian said in the 42-second clip.

Carlos Villagrán’s message was spread by the North American embassy on Twitter (now X) and was not well received by Internet users. “This is the most mediocre thing I have ever seen… rabble rabble”, “How pathetic Carlos Villagrán. His entire life was pigeonholed into a single role, he could never get out of it. And now at 70 years old, he continues doing the same thing” and “My God, until when”; were some of the messages that Internet users left him.
