Liverpool was missed by Norwich City, in a game where they appear very dominant. But Mohamed Salah et al succeeded comeback and won 3-1.
Liverpool host Norwich City at Anfield, Saturday (19/2/2022) night WIB in continuation Premier League. Norwich had surprised Liverpool early in the game with an aggressive and brave game.
However, the hosts slowly took control of the game and dominated. However, after a number of opportunities, the first half ended goalless.
Norwich surprised Liverpool again early in the second half, this time with a goal. Milot Rashica’s shot that hit Joel Matip silenced the Anfield crowd.
Jurgen Klopp reacted and brought on Divock Origi and Thiago Alcantara. The change adds to Liverpool’s pounding power.
The result was Sadio Mane leveling the score in the 64th minute, then Mohamed Salah reversed the position three minutes later. Luis Diaz confirmed Liverpool’s victory in the 81st minute.
Liverpool now have 57 points in second place in the Premier League standings. Norwich are not moving from the bottom of the standings with 17 points.
The course of the match
Norwich City started the game bravely and aggressively. An immediate threat came in the first minute when Max Aarons’ cross turned straight into the goal. Alisson Becker struggled to clear it into the net.
Goal for Norwich two minutes later. Milot Rashica hit a through ball and cleared Alisson, then his shot ended in the bottom left corner of the net. But the linesman raised the offside flag, congratulations to Liverpool’s goal.
Barely! Liverpool wasted a good chance in the fifth minute. Mohamed Salah escapes on the right and sends a cross at the far post. Kostas Tsimikas was in a free position, but his shot from close range went high!
Another pressure from Liverpool in the 14th minute. Mane’s cross from the left was headed by Virgil van Dijk in front of goal, but was parried by Angus Gunn.
Norwich’s turn to throw away a golden opportunity a minute later. Joel Matip did not block the free kick well, until the ball fell at the feet of Brandon Williams. Williams flicked the ball to Teemu Pukki who was free on the left in the box, but the finish went wide!
Liverpool continued the pressure. Starting from a cross by Salah on the right, the ball was received by Tsimikas on the left and passed to Luis Diaz. Diaz cut into the middle and fired, but the ball slipped thinly over the goal.
Salah pushed shortly after, past two Norwich defenders. It’s just that the action has not resulted in a goal because his kick was blocked.
Almost a goal! Korner Tsimikas failed to punch the goalkeeper, the ball was then struck by Salah with a header. His header was on target until Grant Hanley swept it just across the line.
Tsimikas’ low strike in the 37th minute led to the goal. Gunn swiftly dispelled him. A minute later, Van Dijk’s shot took advantage of the chaos in the Norwich penalty box into the net, but he was first in an offside position.
Liverpool had a good chance just before halftime. Salah’s cross was completed by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, but hit the foot of the Norwich defender and went off the pitch.

GOAL! Liverpool conceded early in the second half, precisely in the 48th minute. Rashica received the ball on the left and moved to the center, then fired hard. The ball hit Matip’s feet who tried to block and outwit Alisson.
Liverpool immediately reacted and increased the onslaught to the Norwich defense. Diaz’s flick in the 55th minute rolled thinly to the right of the goal, after turning because it hit Ben Gibson’s leg.
GOAL! Liverpool’s onslaught paid off in the 64th minute. From the middle, Henderson fired a long pass to Tsimikas on the left.

GOAL! Liverpool took the lead in just three minutes! Alisson crossed deep behind the Norwich defense and was well controlled by Salah. Calmly he held the ball for a moment, faced the advancing Norwich keeper, then rolled the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net.
Salah almost made a second goal in the 72nd minute, also from a counter-attack. Receiving the ball on the right, he pushed into the middle and targeted the left corner of the goal. This time his efforts went wide.
Diaz’s shot in the 79th minute was still headed right at the goalkeeper and was cleared. But two minutes later, Diaz really got his name on the scoreboard.
Liverpool played the ball in the middle, then an observant Henderson released a through ball after seeing Diaz’s movement. Coldly, Diaz poked the ball past Gunn who stepped forward to block. GOAL!

Liverpool almost made the fourth goal in the 83rd minute. Diaz had the ball on the left, then passed it to Mane who pierced through. His shot just rolled thin to the right of the goal.
Liverpool kept the lead well in the remaining time. There were no additional goals in the remaining time.
