The Ministry of Health and the District Institute of Science, Biotechnology and Innovation in Health, IDCBIS They invite citizens to approach the fixed blood donation point of the District for the benefit of patients who require transfusion.
The point is located at District Blood Bank, of the District Institute of Science, Biotechnology and Innovation in Health, IDCBIS, located at Carrera 32 # 12-81, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Can you also fill out the following? registration form so that the health team can contact you and schedule a donation date and time. It is worth clarifying that the Bank provides a free transportation service, they pick you up at your home and return you after the donation.
Keep in mind that for each person who donates blood, up to three patients benefit, generally, people who have suffered accidents, who require a transplant or women with complications after childbirth, among others. Remember that with 10 minutes of your time you can benefit up to three types of patients.
Take into account the requirements to donate blood
Before donating it is important that you take into account the following requirements:
? Weigh more than 50 kilos.
? Be between 18 and 65 years old.
? If you took any purgative, you must wait a month after the last dose to donate blood. In case of taking antibiotics, the waiting time is 15 days.
? If you’ve had a piercing or tattoo, you’ll need to wait 6 months to donate blood.
? If you were traveling in a tropical area, you must wait at least a month to donate.
