Hundreds of Brotherhood in Arms activists arrived today (Sunday) in the Mea Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem, hung up pashkevils and called on their ultra-Orthodox brothers to bear the burden of service. This is against the background of the controversies surrounding the conscription law, and the public criticism surrounding the non-conscription of ultra-Orthodox to the IDF. During the riots that developed between the activists and the residents of the neighborhood, two suspects, residents of the Mea Shearim neighborhood, were arrested: one for intentionally causing damage to a police motorcycle, by knocking it to the ground. Dror Erez, a graduate of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Patrol from Mavili Brothers to Weapons, addressed the audience in Yiddish and said: “Tell your leaders enough is enough, we want to be part of the Jewish people in the State of Israel. We need you to join the army, we can’t carry you on our backs. We want equality in the burden of what was and will not be, because it is not possible otherwise.”
The Brothers in Arms movement said: “Come out, our brothers, and come help your brothers who are carrying the burden. For peace and security, the Jewish people in their country and for peace between us.”

Riots broke out between the activists and residents who threw eggs and objects. The police stated: “A short time ago, at the same time as a coordinated demonstration that began in the Knesset area in the designated protest area, several dozen protesters arrived in the Shabbat Square area in Jerusalem, blocked the traffic axis in the place in violation of the law and began to confront the residents of the area, who had gathered there, violating public order. The Chairman of Religious Zionism, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, in response to the march of Brothers in Arms in Mea Shearim: “The provocation of Brothers in Arms marching in Mea Shearim to create conflict and violence throws us straight back to October 6 as if we had learned nothing and did not go through the terrible massacre. The responsibility of the Legal Adviser to the Government. Hate and fratricidal war will not lead to the recruitment of one more soldier but to rift and destruction. The way to integrate the ultra-Orthodox public in the defense of state security is through discourse and dialogue.
