Comcast and ViacomCBS bring streaming service SkyShowtime to the Netherlands in 2022 – IT Pro – News

Streaming service SkyShowtime will come to more than twenty European countries in 2022, including the Netherlands. This service gets movies and TV series from companies like Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. A price has not yet been announced.

Also shows and films from Showtime, Paramount+ Originals, Peacock and Sky Studios can be seen on SkyShowtime, report Comcast and ViacomCBS. Upon release, there will be more than 10,000 hours of videos on the service, the companies promise. This includes new films and TV series that cannot be seen on other platforms.

The offer is replenished every month. In addition, old films and series will be shown on the service. According to the companies, this involves all kinds of genres for different age groups, such as dramas, children’s films, documentaries and ‘local programs’.

SkyShowtime will use Peacock’s platform; Peacock is a streaming service from Comcast that was introduced in July last year. This service is now available in the United States and should be available later this year in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, among others.

Comcast and ViacomCBS are joining forces for SkyShowtime and will jointly own the service. It is not known exactly when the service will come to the Netherlands; the companies say this is dependent on government approval. It is not clear whether and when the service will come to Belgium.
