Elias and Friends is a French animal protection association created in Lebanon in 2021. On this date, the terrible economic crisis that the country is suffering will be put into context after the explosion in the port of Beirut and will put dozens of domestic animals on the streets, after they lost their reflexes their survival to lose.
since, the situation of the animals in Lebanon has worsened in this region of the world because of the complex, volatile and dangerous geopolitical situation. In the south of Lebanon, bombs go every day and they do not stab the animals, abandoned to grief when the inhabitants had to flee their homes.
Who are we?
The Elias and Friends association works in collaboration with theLebanese Society Adopt Don’t Shop etc working with volunteers only who put themselves in the service of animals to help them and offer them a second chance. Our little ones are cared for by the best veterinarians in Lebanon, sometimes in a very limited context of lack of medicine or material resources.
What are our missions?
We focus on our work rescuing the most vulnerable animals (blind, 3-legged, sick, after being hit by cars, after being mistreated, etc.) who have no chance to survive in the dangerous streets of Lebanon. So courageous patients sometimes emerge from their recovery period with special needs: some have lost their sight, or their leg, or they are recovering from trauma. They are true survivors.
Abandonment in Lebanon is largely due to the economic and security situation there, the animals of Elias and Friends prepare for international adoption to allow them to (re)find a peaceful life full of love. The society is mainly looking for adopters in France but all European countries are welcome to welcome one of their little protégés.
Once an adoptive family is identified in France (after several discussions with the family and a pre-adoption visit), we travel the survivors from Beirut to Paris with the family us. flight partners, big-hearted travelers obtained by reason of the animal that accompanies them, during the flight.
What is important to us?
We are all volunteer and have no operating costs: the donations we receive are 100% dedicated to animal care (vaccination, sterilization, possible surgeries, etc.).
The care is extensive: from their rescue on the street to their complete development in their home. We follow our little ones throughout their lives and we can count on themconstant support and investment from a feline carrier to advise and guide adoptive families to facilitate the transition of new animals.
What are our projects?
Before they go back to France, the vaccination process cannot be shortened and it takes 4 months. This time is used in Lebanon to take care and pamper our indoor animals caring for host families.
We chose to give our animals to Lebanese students and we are trying to support them, in exchange for the good care we have of our little children. We know how difficult the study years are and the support (financial, materials, etc.) we could give to these students would allow them to buy their books, their school supplies or just their fridge filling
Therefore, we are looking for support, supporters or sponsors who are ready to support our project that combines animal protection and education.
