Now Shelton will face Taylor Fritz, the world No. 5 and first US Top 5 in over a decade, in the second round.

On 4 to 5 Fognini gave up again losing the fraction 6 to 4.
Contrary to the first set, Fognini was the first to lose his serve in the second set. The blue, who only got 35% of points when he served second, lost his serve in the first innings of the second set. Fognini went down 0-40, he canceled the first two break points but on the third occasion he slammed into the American’s defense. Shelton then took total control of the match and won shortly after set and match 6 to 1.
