Krjogja.com – From year to year, HIV and AIDS have become a global problem, even in Indonesia. And it is still a priority in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). From the DIY Health Service data report, the cumulative number of cases from 1993 to September 2021 was 6377 HIV cases, and 2004 of these entered the AIDS stage. And 58% of them are of productive age.
Of the above cases, 32 persons with disabilities were HIV infected, 14 cases were ODGJ who were HIV infected. Apart from that, the most worrying thing is the cases of HIV positive children, more than 150 cases, 50% of which are orphans and raised in poor families.
What is certain is that stigma and discrimination in children with HIV continue to occur. For this reason, a new strategy is needed. A new strategy in HIV and AIDS prevention efforts with other challenges is that there are still many drug abstinence rates among people living with HIV (ODHIV) , the involvement of other stakeholders besides health is not optimal , stigma and discrimination are still quite high in society.
The global theme for World AIDS Day 2022 is “EQUALIZE”, while the national theme is “Joining steps to prevent HIV, all are equal to end AIDS” continuing the spirit of the year’s theme last year, which aims to raise awareness and concern of all people about HIV AIDS by conducting HIV testing and proceeding with ARV treatment as soon as possible if HIV is diagnosed.
The more people know their HIV status and receive early antiretroviral treatment, and the involvement of stakeholders, stakeholders and policy makers can accelerate the achievement of reduction of the HIV epidemic so that Indonesia can achieve “3 Zeros”, i.e. (1) no new HIV infections, (2) no AIDS-related deaths, and (3) no stigma and no discrimination to achieve HIV elimination by 2030.
The sub-theme of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) is “Unifying Efforts to Prevent HIV, with HIV and AIDS Inclusive Local Regulations (Perda).
Government and legislative commitment to AIDS response efforts is manifested in the completion of the draft regional AIDS management regulation, which is inclusive in meeting the challenges of the current need for HIV and AIDS prevention AIDS, in addition to the increase in cases of disability, impact mitigation including social, economic and HIV management impacts in disaster response as stated in the article in This new Raperda will replace the HIV and AIDS regional regulation n. 12 of 2010.

Rani Widiati, SE, MM encouraged Bapemperda to prioritize DIY HIV and AIDS Raperda, the legal department as a drafting team, in addition to the health department who will release the latest data and the HIV and AIDS epidemic in the do-it-yourself.
