The United Nations want to explore opportunities to combat racism and anti-Semitism through and at major sporting events with Bundesliga soccer team Borussia Dortmund and the World Jewish Congress (WJC).
The European Football Association UEFA and Vice-President of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas will also be present at the event on March 29 at the UN site in Geneva, the moderator of the event and WJC representative at the United Nations, Leon Saltiel, told representatives of the society Catholic journalists and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation at the weekend in Geneva.
In addition to Dortmund and Chelsea London, the ten participating football clubs also include Feyenoord Rotterdam. Among others, Deputy UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Nada Al-Nashif and UEFA General Secretary Theodore Theodoridis are to speak at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
