Column 45: ‘I mocked my date with a celebrity’ | Columns & Opinion

I haven’t come across my own friends on my Instagram timeline for a long time, the algorithm is so disrupted. Who I do spot maximum are all celebrities, vloggers and other semicelebrities, who are made fun of by the many juice channels I follow. No idea what my own acquaintances are up to, but no Dutch celebrity escapade that I miss. All I have to do is open my app or I’ll become a rabbit hole vol juice in dirt drawn in. I could never have imagined that that dirty laundry would suddenly also affect my private life…

Spotted!

Monday evening I was stretched out on the couch scrolling through some stories, when I suddenly spotted a familiar one among the many exciting updates. No, not a famous Dutch person, not a YouTuber or Instaqueen, I spotted my own date from a week ago!

We had met two weeks earlier at a small neighborhood festival. His name was David. Suddenly he was in front of me and before I knew it I had given him my number. I hadn’t been home from the festival that same evening when he had already called me for a date. A Casanova pur sang. This man didn’t beat around the bush, delicious!

Love bombing

We had already had dinner one evening, he had kissed me and we had been in contact nonstop for two weeks now. My day started and ended with David and not an hour went by when he didn’t speak up. Love bombing it’s called in the dating world, I believe. Overwhelm someone with love and attention and then disappear overnight. But even though I knew how this would (could) end, I secretly went well with it. Until I suddenly saw David in a story from my favorite juice channel.

Double expose

Was he there seducing a famous lady at a pool party. Just like he had done to me. However, the lady in question was very busy and was dragged through the mud by the canal. She would have been cheating for some time and this video would now be the first proof of that. However, along with her smuggling practices, David’s pranks also came to the fore. He had texted me less than an hour ago, from that same party. A double expose So. Extra juicy, you might think, but this wasn’t the kind of gossip I was looking for.

About & Out

I decided to finish his dating tactics myself and chose – for a change – to disappear from one day to the next myself. I didn’t need his side of the story. The evidence was as clear as a log. I could have seen that together with the rest of the Netherlands. At the same time as his number, I deleted the Instagram app. It has been just as beautiful. Let me call some friends (I have juice to report after all!).
