Colruyt stops the Collishop website – De Standaard

Colruyt Group is discontinuing the non-food range via the Collishop website. The website will no longer be available for orders from November 9, 2020. No jobs will be lost.

The non-food web store Collishop has grown into one of the largest Belgian web shops. “Colruyt Group, however, believes that in the current competitive landscape, specialization is required in online non-food sales,” the group said in a press release on Monday. That is why it has decided to discontinue the general non-food assortment that is sold via the Collishop website. Major competitors such as Bol.com and Amazon will thus have even more leeway.

Instead, Colruyt wants to invest further in the specialized online and offline activities of Dreamland, Dreambaby, Fiets! and MyUnderwear24. The decision has no consequences for the online activities of those different channels, nor for the services provided by Collishop Professional to companies and day-care centers.

The Collishop collection point network remains available in the stores to collect online orders from the other web shops in the group.

All Collishop employees can remain employed within Colruyt Group. The group expects that the end of non-food sales via the Collishop website will have a limited impact on the net result for the 2020 financial year.
