Another star of the Colors of Ostrava festival canceled his concert. Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, attributed this to a malfunction on his private plane. “We don’t know how to say it at all, nothing like this has ever happened in the history of the festival. The whole band, dancers and the whole team were ready in the backstage of our festival,” the organizers said on their Facebook profile on Friday evening, when the singer was expected.
They solved the problem with the plane remotely for a long time. There was an option to change the Friday program of the event so that the artist would perform later.
“We also addressed the shift to a later time on Saturday night, but despite the great efforts of the singer’s team, the malfunction could not be removed,” the post states. Festival director Zlata Holušová announced the cancellation of the concert to a crowd of prepared fans.
The Nigerian artist’s team also commented on the situation. “Unfortunately, Burna Boy cannot be at Colors of Ostrava due to an engine failure on the plane that took him to Ostrava. Fortunately, he is safe and hopes to return and perform in front of his Czech fans at the earliest opportunity,” they said.

Singer Ellie Goulding did not perform on Thursday. In her place, the Czech band Chinaski got into the program at the last minute. Sedlák said that the doctors did not recommend the singer a flight and a concert at Colors of Ostrava for health reasons.
“Ellie Goulding sends her sincere apologies, love and hopes to meet her fans in the Czech Republic soon,” the festival organizers added.
110 performers were to present themselves at the festival this year. Seven dozen of them came from abroad, from 30 countries. The headline act, American band OneRepublic, performed on Wednesday. 30,000 people watched her concert.
Together with the festival, the sixth year of the international discussion forum Meltingpot takes place. President Petr Pavel also arrived at the festival on Friday evening. He appeared on the Meltingpot in a special edition of the political podcast Kecy & Politika.
