A heavily intoxicated woman was in striker Valeri Nichushkin’s hotel room on Saturday. The Colorado Avalanche forward has since been absent from team activities for personal reasons.

A few hours before the third game of the series between the “Avs” and the Kraken, the 28-year-old woman, whose identity has not been released, was so intoxicated in Nichushkin’s room at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Seattle, that the Avalanche doctor requested that she be rushed to the hospital.
This one would have revealed to the authorities that she had come from Russia and that she was Ukrainian. She expressed her regret for coming to the United States and indicated that a man had stolen her passport.
However, there is no police investigation related to this incident. The intoxicated woman allegedly hit the doctor when he came to her aid, but he refused to press charges.
Nichushkin, who has been married since 2018, left the team for personal reasons. The head coach of the Avalanche, Jared Bednar, had also confirmed that he did not know when he was going to be able to count on the Russian striker, but that he communicated regularly with him.
“I just don’t know. These are personal reasons. If he returns to this series, it will be simply incredible,” he told Altitude TV.
