Watch the video: Color-blind bride sees colors for the first time at her wedding.
This bride’s wedding day was made even more magical thanks to a pair of glasses.
Pennsylvania native Kristin Robinson is making her dream come true by marrying her fiance Nick at Lake Buena Vista in Disneyworld, Florida.
But not only her wedding makes this day so special, because another wish comes true.
Kristin will witness her wedding in color because she was born color blind due to a genetic defect.
Her father and her two brothers have the same genetic defect: a so-called deuteranopia.
This is a genetic color vision deficiency, often referred to as red-green blindness.
The defect prevents them from seeing colors like pink and purple and makes it difficult to see reds, greens, and browns.
The Disneyland wedding planners knew about Kristin and her family’s color blindness and organized glasses that let them see colors.
This is how the bride sees her future husband in color for the first time on her wedding day.
She is also overwhelmed by the colorful floral decoration. It’s the first time she can recognize purple and pink.
For the full color power, the day even ends with fireworks. What is a successful PR campaign for Disney World will certainly remain an unforgettable day for the young couple.
