Released last December, Jean-Paul Ginestet’s book retracing the history of the Colomiers rugby club has met with some success. Former players and managers, supporters and fans of rugby have been able to immerse themselves in the glorious past of the club with the dove, but not only since the book also makes a close link with local history. In “Colomiers a little more than a club”, the author brilliantly draws a parallel between the development of a village which has become a town and of a team which reached the finals of the French championship and the European Cup in the late 90s and early 21st century. This common journey through time naturally aroused the interest of the municipality, which decided to acquire 200 works in order to share this great piece of Colomiers’ history with as many people as possible.
Congratulations from the town hall
“This initiative aims to promote this book but not only, it is quite extraordinary because the city and the club have stories that come together in their development and also in the great figures who are part of our past, all this is reflected well through the chapters elsewhere “, related the mayor Karine Traval-Michelet present in the club house of Colomiers in the company in particular of the president Alain Carré and the author.
“Colomiers is a sports town, a rugby town and the acquisition of these books is an opportunity to pay tribute to the club and to this great initiative of having been able to publish this quality book”, she congratulated in conclusion of a morning during which the two entities were able to celebrate a beautiful passage from the great novel of the columérine adventure.
