With 400 pupils of 30 different nationalities, the German school of Toulouse-Colomiers welcomes pupils from 2 years up to AbiBac. The facility offers an education and teaching program “Made in Germany”. Rich and demanding, it notably includes a wide range of German and French cultural workshops and events. Learning in small classes, advice and pedagogical follow-up during school allow children to evolve according to their own rhythms and attitudes. Students are trilingual: German-French-English.
In this new school year, Martin Weinert has just taken on the position of principal. He comes from Bavaria, where he was the director of a high school in Würzburg for 7 years. Previously, he worked in the German education administration where he dealt with issues such as the introduction of the ABIBac in Bavaria and the promotion of reading throughout Germany.
Particularly attracted by the close collaboration between the German School of Toulouse and French and international institutions, as evidenced by the current collaboration with the Victor Hugo High School, the Lucie Aubrac Elementary School and the Toulouse International School in Colomiers, Martin Weinert thus wishes to further strengthen links and exchanges with its French partners in Toulouse. “France has been one of the priorities for decades, as a neighbor and friend of Germany,” he points out. 2023, which will mark the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, comes at the right time. Among other things, the German school will be heavily involved in the Franco-German Week organized by Toulouse Métropole and will propose events in Colomiers.
