In the municipal council room, Anna, Osmin, Matthieu, Lise, Chloé and Evanéa, members of the municipal youth council (CMJ), accompanied by their manager Ludivine Ait Ali, handed over a check to the French Association last Wednesday. against Myopathies (AFM).
“Thanks to their investment and their determination, on Saturday 5 December on the open air market with the sale of Telethon objects, these young people collected the record sum of 758 €” specifies Arnaud Simion, first deputy mayor delegate to Solidarity. In the presence of Marie-Odile Bertrand, municipal councilor and president of the ethics committee of the CMJ, as well as Evelyne Guilloteau, president of the Colomiers accueil association, this check was delivered to Bernard Lecou, representing the AFM.
“The needs are real, even more this year, and this kind of action, initiated by young people, more and more common, warms our hearts” insists Bernard Lecou. For many years, the CMJ has been mobilizing for the AFM, an initiative that is close to the hearts of these young elected officials.
The operation will be renewed in 2021 and “CMJ’s commitment is total in this action” concluded Ludivine Ait Ali. With the annual subsidy from the Municipality, it is therefore a total sum of € 2,200 which goes to research on rare genetic diseases, as well as aid and support to the sick. And in these difficult times with the health crisis, the AFM-Telethon needs it more than ever.
