On this first day of July, Karine Traval-Michelet, mayor of Colomiers, accompanied by Benjamin Rioux, deputy delegate for international cooperation, received at the slow cooker the four young Quebecers from Victoriaville who benefit from a summer job on the common. For six weeks, Marily, Julien, Adam and Anaïs will fulfill the missions of organizers for the neighborhood life service, sports animator, manager at the leisure center and cultural programming agent. They will be accompanied by a godfather or a godmother, among the municipal agents, throughout the duration of their summer job.
“After a two-year hiatus and a recent trip to our cousins in Victoriaville with my team, we are delighted to welcome these young people for a summer, who will be staying with host families who have generously volunteered ” introduces the chosen columerine.
Les Columérins in Montreal
At the same time, five young Columérines and Columérins will take off on Friday July 8 for Montreal, to join their seasonal jobs. A strong commitment for the municipality, which voted in the municipal council for a scholarship to help these young people integrate better into their new environment. “Be enriched by this experience” wishes them Benjamin Rioux, before signing their respective contracts.
Questioned, all have the same speech: they say they are “happy to live an exotic experience and to discover a new culture.” For young Quebecers, after having started to visit the town and of course Toulouse, the fourth largest city in France, all are eager to start their mission.
