Colomiers. Shops: the revitalization of the Plein-Center under discussion

Tuesday, October 19 at 8 p.m., at the Le Central cinema (rue du Center), the town hall invites the public to an information and discussion meeting on the theme of the urban and commercial revitalization of the Plein-Center, as part of the “Let’s reinvent the city center, our heart of life” approach.

In charge of the study on the evolution of the Center district, the INterland design office must carry out a diagnosis combining statistics, observation, field analysis and collection of opinions from users and traders.

Launched in the spring by an online questionnaire accessible to all, the first stage of the survey collected more than 440 opinions. The corresponding “inventory” will be presented during this meeting. It highlights the main assets of the Plein Center: proximity, accessibility, ease of parking. But competition from the Village, the Perget and the Blagnac shopping center counterbalances these advantages. If the reception in the shops of the center is considered “good, even very good”, the current commercial offer of the town center is considered unsatisfactory, the district lacks animation, is “not modern enough”, and is not seen as a meeting place. The main expectations are therefore the improvement of the commercial and service offer, the animation, and the development of public spaces.

At the same time, taking into account the point of view of traders was also the subject of specific attention to understand their activities, projects and visions of the city center.

It is still possible to give your opinion via the interactive and participatory mapping of the platform www.colomiers-coeurdevie.fr/.

In addition, Saturday 23 October from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., urban walks will identify in situ areas for improvement, and note any observations or questions.

Participation on registration: email [email protected], or at the reception of the Town Hall.
