The Walkers of Hope will form their “circle of silence” on Saturday March 4 from 11 a.m. to noon, around Gandhi’s totem (under the covered square on rue du Centre), to show their support for all those who have fled their country and find themselves locked up in administrative detention centers (CRA), such as that of Cornebarrieu.
A recent report by La Cimade, one of the six associations authorized to intervene in the CRAs, indicates that the climate there has worsened considerably in recent months, which no longer allows it to carry out its mission of aid to the exercise of rights. “The situations of violence have continued to multiply”, she underlines, recalling the open letter from Thomas Millot, doctor at the Lyon Saint-Exupéry CRA, who announced last December his decision to leave his post, “ because of the impossibility of exercising my profession there”, denouncing a “factory of particularly effective and inhuman violence”.
