In this very special year, the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of the City of Colomiers takes stock.
The year 2020 was marked by an unprecedented pandemic, which demonstrated the spirit of solidarity of the French and in particular their commitment to donating blood, at a time when the reserves of blood products are dwindling.
The columérine association has entered into a strong partnership with the town hall, the Compagnons du Devoir Sonovision and Collins Aerospace.
During the four blood drives this year, carried out under obvious strict sanitary rules, 2015 people came to donate blood at the Gascogne room. The French Blood Establishment (EFS) collected 1,670 bags to treat and save lives.
600 donors came in early December during the last collection. They were able to appreciate the festive snack offered. These four days of donation also brought 68 first-time donors, or nearly 200 new donors over the year.
A great reward for the association and all the volunteers invested in this solidarity approach.
