Colomiers. New digital school equipment

In order to promote diversified educational approaches, the city of Colomiers provided all of its schools with digital equipment from 2016. All of this equipment was renewed at the end of 2021. “Six years ago, we made the choice to make digital equipment available to the teams of public schools in Colomiers, an investment that had cost 1,120,000 euros over 5 years” relates the elected columérine. The initial contract having come to an end, an evaluation was carried out in order to renew the equipment of the 15 nursery and elementary schools in the municipality. Thanks to a steering committee made up of 5 school principals, a referent teacher and education and information systems managers from the city of Colomiers, specifications meeting the practices and needs of educational teams have been could be implemented.

€550,000 invested

These new digital equipment were deployed at the end of 2021 by professionals from the information systems division, for a total investment budget of 550,000 euros for the purchase of equipment. Its maintenance is entrusted to an external service provider at an annual cost of 54,000 euros. Thus, each elementary class will be equipped with a computer, a screen and a video projector (interactive for CM1 and CM2), while the nursery classes now have a projection case, consisting of a Laptop and a video projector. The municipality has therefore equipped its schools with a set of 240 fixed computers, 24 laptops and 121 video projectors. “Providing schools with the best possible supply allows, among other things, to open up our pupils to the world and to promote new educational approaches, while preparing them for responsible use of digital technology and social networks” concludes Karine Traval-Michelet.
