Last days to discover or rediscover the collective exhibition “The Floating Images” at the White Pavilion Henri-Molina. What do the images say about reality? Should we still believe what we see? Between fake news, conspiracy and journalism, how to decipher the true from the false today? What roles do images play in our perception of reality? In 1999, the film Matrix imagined a plot of machines against humans bathed in a simulation of reality. In 2022, we are surrounded by synthetic images reconstructed by machines, malleable images, drifting images, floating images. Should we rejoice in the infinite possibilities of fiction or fear the virtuality of digital worlds? In “Floating images”, artists and graphic designers combine the hypnotic appeal of images and their decryption. Co-produced with the Quai des Savoirs of Toulouse Métropole, the exhibition is in place until next Saturday August 20th. With her, ends a series of meetings with researchers, artists, librarians and mediators on the theme: “Critical spirit are you there?”. The next exhibition will take place in October 2022 and will pay tribute to comic book artist Frederik Peeters.
