Some 3,519 burglaries were recorded in Haute-Garonne between January and June 2022 by the prefecture of the department. There are 520 more than last year during the same period. In this context, it is worth recalling the existence of certain devices, especially during the holiday period, conducive to burglaries.

In the town of Colomiers, west of Toulouse, residents can benefit from Operation Tranquillity Holidays, or simply OTV. As part of this action coordinated by the municipal police and the national police, the police patrol their homes or businesses when they are absent. And contrary to popular belief, this device is available throughout the year.

« Each year, approximately 170 requests are monitored and daily rounds carried out by the municipal police. The agents ensure a role of prevention of acts of delinquency and public tranquility for the inhabitants. On their return, users receive a report on this monitoring,” explains in a press release Christophe Corbi, Deputy Mayor for Security, Prevention and Public Tranquillity.

Operation Tranquillity Holidays is offered free of charge to residents of Colomiers. To benefit from it, it is necessary to register at the Town Hall. You will need to present proof of address, a copy of an identity document and a pre-filled form available on the municipality’s website. The process can also be done online.
