Colomiers. Cormont: “This crisis has upset our workforce”

the essential
In favorable waivers to qualify for the play-off before the championship is stopped Colomiers begins Saturday in the league with a very reshaped team. Guillaume Cormont, the columérin technician, takes stock.

Guillaume, are you disappointed not to have been able to face, because of the premature end of the championship, Feytiat, first and undefeated, and possibly not to have been able to participate in the play-off?

There was obviously a lot of disappointment about the end of this season and its outcome, which could certainly have made us experience great emotions with last year’s group.

With the strong renewal of the offseason and a post 1 – post 5 axis to rebuild what are the objectives of the season?

We have been, more than any other team in the division, impacted by COVID for a variety of reasons. This has changed our workforce considerably. With the rule of transfers it was necessary to strum to build a coherent team and then the sudden stop of Annabelle Caprais at the beginning of September was a real blow. So we are almost in the unknown when we talk about goals. What is certain is that we must remain masters of our destiny and make home meetings a priority.

It’s nice to see Lisa Périssé, trained in Riscle and at the regional pole, come back to Occitania after 5 seasons at the Basket Landes training center. What do you expect from this player you know well?

I am really delighted to welcome her to our home, it is a pleasure for me, as with Laure Fourcade previously, to find young girls that I have seen growing up at the hope center. I think she could be an “x factor” on this team. It will take some time to adapt but she will quickly become an NF1 executive player.

It is a daring bet to entrust the post of playmaker to Arzhelenn Chavoutier, inexperienced at this level. It was her seasons with more than 30 points on average at Pacé, in NF3, that prompted you to recruit her? What do you expect from her?

I have known Arzhelenn since his stints in Rennes and Rezé in NF1 at 18 years old, it is an advantage to be a former in the division. I believe in its ability to make people forget, in a completely different register, the metronomes that Sylvie Gruszczynski and Agathe Degorces may have been. She will have the dual competence of driving this team and raising the crowd.

What do you think are your hen’s favorites?

I think Feytiat is still a favorite. We lost twice in preparation by 27 and 9 points. The group, which was already strong for the division, has been strengthened. Voiron will also be very good with the return of Fabienne Constant. For others “wait and see” …
