Colomiers. Caravaggio in the spotlight at the Véo Grand Central

Thursday 5 January from 18:30 to 20:00, as part of the UNIPOP system, the Véo Grand Central cinema offers live the lecture “The mysteries of Caravaggio”, by Pierre Curie, a specialist in Italian painting from the 15th to the 18th century.

The screening of the film “Caravaggio” by Michele Placido will follow at 20:45. Prices: €3 per conference, €6 (children under 14, €4.50) per film. Conference and movie can be separated.

Riccardo Scamarcio, Louis Garrel and Isabelle Huppert unite in this two-hour historical biopic, which traces part of Caravaggio’s life. In 1609, accused of murder, Caravaggio fled from Rome and took refuge in Naples. Supported by the powerful Colonna family, he tries to obtain the grace of the Church to return to Rome. The Pope then appoints an inquisitor to investigate this painter, whose art is considered subversive and contrary to the morals of the Church.

The restaurant area of the cinema is open until 21.00 on Thursdays. (map on central-club.com/)
