Having become essential, the bd festival de Colomiers brings together every year since 1984, in a friendly and family atmosphere, approximately 14 000 fans lover of French and international comics.
150 authors present
Its strong lines are a power of attraction for professionals (authors and publishers) of comics – 80 editors and more than 150 auteurs will be present throughout the weekend – and a media exposure undoubtedly more modest than the giant Angoulême but also more relaxed.
35 years old is the age of maturity and we can only salute the organizers’ desire to forever seek move the lines to attract a large audience eager to discover new products, meet publishers, cartoonists and comic book authors, and attend the numerous events, exhibitions, shows, workshops and all the surprises planned.
Karine Traval-Michelet, mayor of Colomiers, welcomes the fact that special attention is paid to public accessibility, diversity and equality of representations, whether gender, generational, social and cultural. . “
Meetings, exchanges between enthusiasts
Comics, as we know, look at the world, take the pulse of its time. A few months from Olympic Games of Paris 2023, the Show rolls out the red carpet for sport, in particular with an exhibition by Chloé Wary and Lila Neutre, two artists who are keen to highlight the difficulties of minority groups in existing in the sporting world.
The exhibition ” In shape ! “ , by Anne-Margot Ramstein, is also worth the detour: her work places bodies in a universe of strange and surprising forms. All the exhibitions are worth seeing anyway, because they show the world in a dreamlike, offbeat and colorful way.
Many authors
But we know that fans mainly come to meet authors. This year there will be some great encounters to be had – on both sides of the stands, because we know that artists love this rare moment, after the solitude of creation, where they can interact with their readers, who share the same passion.
It’s impossible to list them all here, but we already know that we will have the chance to come across Emilie Gleason et Olivia Bruneau (“Robbie” , Casterman), Camille Blandin (“Daddy or Francky”, Exemplaire editions), Nicolas Bazin (“Tomorrow the rage”, Bubble éditions), Little Raptor (“Loreader”, Rue de Sèvres), Damien Cuvillier (“Fire Thief”, Futuropolis), Coline Hegron (“Without panic”, Delcourt) and many others…
