Colomiers. Against breast cancer, the pink city

the essential
An exhibition of comic strips retraces the life of a breast cancer patient.

Until Friday, October 15, the City of Colomiers is offering an exceptional exhibition in the hall of the town hall: boards, taken from the PINK MAM ‘comic strip, remind the columers of the annual “Pink October” campaign, which aims to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and to raise funds for research.

Columerin, PINK MAM, had surgery for breast cancer. “She practiced fencing with the Riposte association to regain the mobility of her arm,” says a person who knows her well. “In the middle of chemo, she told her story with a lot of derision. We ended up telling her: What you tell us, it could make a great comic! She knew a designer, Maud, found a graphic designer, Laurence, and asked Isabelle, a teacher, to reread her texts! 18 months later, thanks to an Ulule kitty, the PINK MAM comic book came out in 1,000 copies! “

After these first albums, quickly sold out, the association “I live in pink” created by these “funny ladies” to make their project a reality has relaunched a second edition of 1000 copies. “Our comic strip is on sale in several shops (including La Préface in Colomiers), in Toulouse clinics, and we currently have a stand at Carrefour Purpan. Of course, we are always looking for other relay points, shops, or others: interested persons can contact us (Tel. 07 58 16 62 12, e-mail [email protected])”.

The PINK MAM comic book is also for sale on helloasso.com (association I live in Rose). The profits are entirely donated to associations working for the well-being and support of patients, and for cancer research.

In the meantime, there are only a few days left to discover Pink Mam’d in the entrance hall of the town hall of Colomiers…
