the essential
The demolition of the Gascogne bar will give way, in particular, to a social residence for the elderly in the Val d’Aran district, whose works will begin next November.

Of the 295 new housing units of the Grand Val d’Aran project, 40 will be used as social housing for the elderly. These social rental apartments for seniors will be subject to income testing and benefit from housing subsidies.

“This construction responds to a request from the population that was formulated during the various consultations we have carried out”, explains Arnaud Simion, first deputy mayor in charge of solidarity. “It is also political will to keep seniors who wish to stay in their neighborhood through this independent residence. A financial dimension will allow them to benefit from the APL. The geographic location of these social housing units will allow quick access to shops from downtown and to all. services”.

A new health center

The social residence for the elderly, whose works will begin next month, is also strategically positioned above a new health center. Located on the ground floor, it will bring together various medical and paramedical specialties including the analysis laboratory and the physiotherapy studio of Val d’Aran.

The 40 residential units of the social residence for the elderly and the health center constitute one of the two new buildings built on the place de la barre Gascogne. The other building in R + 4 will offer 25 housing units for rent-membership.

An underground car park with 57 spaces will also be built under the new buildings. The complete rehabilitation of the Val d’Aran area involves the construction of 185 new housing units and the demolition of 124 with a new nursery, a martial arts and boxing center and a new council house.
