Colomiers. A new team at Voltaire college

The Voltaire college, located in downtown Colomiers, has made its comeback with a new management team. To welcome the 415 students, Karine Tortorici, principal of the establishment for the second year was accompanied by Emmanuel Aligé, deputy principal, Milène Devilleneuve, deputy director of the section of adapted general and vocational education (Segpa), Valérie Pouyade, assistant manager and Benoit Barrat, new senior education advisor.

The premises now have a renewed computer park and a new documentation and information center (CDI), as bright as it is spacious. Dynamic and committed, the management team wishes to carry out numerous projects. “Promoting the success of students, their well-being and living together is our will,” explains Karine Tortorici.

Golf and theater sections

The tone is set with the golf section open this year. The theater workshop in English for 5th year students promotes exchange. To the partnerships, already numerous within the establishment, notably with the football section in 6th grade and the college choir in connection with the city’s conservatory as part of current music, there are added the ropes of success. Addressed to 4th and 3rd year classes, in conjunction with Sciences Po Toulouse, it promulgates ambition and perseverance.

“A flexible classroom project with atypical furniture will also see the light of day”, continues Emmanuel Aligé. “Balloons and tablets will allow everyone, among others, to read, especially in English, in a room dedicated to changing activities.”

With the college students’ system against harassment, student ambassadors will relay the issues of harassment prevention to their peers.

In support of the departmental council, the making of a new courtyard is being studied for the next school year. With “islands of freshness”, this place of exchange will take into account the girl-boy equality, always with the objective of improving the school climate.
