The Ministry of Health announced the validation by the European Union of the Colombian vaccination certificate against COVID-19which from this moment will be accepted by the 27 countries of the old continent.
Consequently, citizens who are going to travel to any country of the European Union will be able to generate it and present it as a guarantee of protection against COVID-19.
“The recognition of the equivalence of this certificate is given after two months of intense and joint work by officials from the Information and Communications Technology Offices (OTIC) and International Cooperation of this Ministry with technicians from the European Union to guarantee that the technology of our digital certificate can be validated in all the countries of the European Union”, affirmed Constanza Engativá, head of OTIC of the Ministry of Health.

The 27 countries that make up the European Union are: Germany, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, France, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Sweden, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Estonia, Greece, Malta, Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, Cyprus, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal and Romania.
“All citizens who want or need to travel to any country of the European Union will be able to generate their digital certificate through the Mi Vacuna portal and take it with the security and guarantee that with that certificate they will let it enter any commercial or public establishment in these countries,” added the official.
Today In Colombia there are three types of digital vaccination certificates: for people vaccinated in Colombia, for Colombians or residents of Colombia vaccinated abroad and for people who were vaccinated in Colombia and who need to travel to any country in Europe or the world.
