September 8, 2023 – After four years of absence due to issues related to the pandemic, the traditional Services Fair returns with more strength and many surprises for Colombians in the tri-state area and Connecticut.
For the first time, the consulates in New Jersey and New York, together with the Colombia Nos Une program, are working together to hold, in both States, on different dates, a new edition of the Services Fair, and also present various routes to Colombian communities. themes that allow the strengthening of the life projects of Colombians in this area of the United States.
“The doors of this Fair are open to all Colombian families: those who have just arrived, for those who have been there for many years; for young people, students and professionals. It is a scenario where each one will find an opportunity to strengthen or continue strengthening their life project. This is how we have designed this edition of the Services Fair”, Andrés Mejía, Consul General of Colombia in New York.
Both spaces, which will be set up in Newark, New Jersey, and Queens, New York, will have organizations and local and state authorities who are experts in entrepreneurship, health, education, migration and employment. Additionally, our regions will be present through folklore, music, art and food.
Colombian entities join the Fairs
On this occasion, compatriots will be able to learn about the institutional offer aimed at Colombians abroad by Colombian State entities such as Colpensiones and SENA. On the other hand, the Victims Unit and the National Army will have a space to resolve doubts in relation to their topics.
The real estate offer will be available to the communities thanks to the presence of the Colombian Chamber of Construction (CAMACOL) and some construction companies that will explain how to invest in housing in our country
When and where is the Colombians’ meeting?
In New York, Colombians will be able to go to Queens Borough Hall (120-55 Queens Blvd, Queens, NY 11424) on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 from 11 am to 4 pm.
All Colombians are invited to enjoy and take advantage of these spaces led by the Consulates in New Jersey and New York and the Colombia Nos Une program. Admission is free.
