Considered one of the most important events for artists and entrepreneurs on the continent, Billboard magazine’s Latin Music Week will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2024, with a celebration taking place at the Fillmore Miami Beach, located in the city of Miami (United States), from October 14 to 18.

The publication has already confirmed a first round of artists who will be taking part in the event, either for live performances or to participate in forums related to musical creation or aspects related to the industry. The Colombian quota is particularly notable, as four of the most renowned artists in the field of popular music were confirmed.

The first announcement confirmed that Pipe Bueno –one of Warner Music Latina’s most recent acquisitions–, Paola Jara, Yeison Jiménez –currently immersed in his three dates at the Movistar Arena in Bogotá with a full house– and Luis Alfonso will be there.

At times, those who celebrated the news the most were Pipe Bueno and Luis Alfonso, who were happy to reach such an important space with their music. “God never ceases to surprise me with his blessings,” wrote Luis Alfonso on his Instagram account, while Pipe Bueno said that “We continue making history,” in addition to thanking Billboard and the director of Billboard’s Latin edition, Leila Cobo, for the invitation.

Other artists confirmed in this first batch of artists include Bad Gyal, Danna, Danny Ocean, Gloria Estefan, JOP de Fuerza Regida, Lele Pons, María Becerra, Mon Laferte, among others.

Latin Music Week will include exclusive panels, conversations and performances by the biggest stars in Latin music, something that Leila Cobo herself did not hesitate to emphasize. “Latin music is experiencing its most successful and globally recognized moment this year. But Billboard has been proudly at its side for more than 35 years as the main flag, defender and opinion-former of Latin music around the world,” she said.

Billboard President Mike Van highlighted the importance of the event, as well as the organizers’ dedication to continue promoting the Latin music community: “We are proud of the decades-long work we have done to celebrate Latin talent and unite the community. This year’s event will be an unparalleled celebration for artists, the industry and fans,” he said.

Tickets to attend the various Latin Music Week events can be purchased through the official website, BillboardLatinMusicWeek.com. The event will coincide with the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which will be the closing event of the week on October 18 and for which the list of nominees is still pending.

Of the artists confirmed for Latin Music Week, one who got a big scare was the interpreter of Ni tengo ni necesito, as he said on social media that he had lost his passport, due to the fact that he had several commitments in the United States, including the celebration of his birthday.

But this Thursday, August 1, the artist confirmed that, to his great relief, a worker at Bogotá’s El Dorado airport found the document and was able to contact his manager to return it to him.

“From this moment on I want you to know that we are happy, thanks to God and thanks to a ‘partner’, Yeferson, who works at El Dorado Airport, he found the passport and brought it to me. (…) What a joy, bless the Lord, thanks to all the people who wrote to us, especially to Yeferson who is a mechanic, an aeronaut, I thank him and his entire family. I owe him a dinner at the place you want,” Yeison expressed, excited, in his Instagram stories.
