On Thursday, the Colombian government revealed who kidnapped the father Luis Diazthe English Liverpool player, since last Saturday.
The Colombian government confirmed through a statement that Luis Diaz’s father was kidnapped by the National Liberation Army. They demand his immediate release.
The chief peace negotiator with the National Liberation Army, Oti Patiño, said that the aforementioned rebel group is responsible for the kidnapping of Luis Diaz’s father, which happened last Saturday. The government called for his immediate release, in the face of what could constitute one of the most dangerous crises in the negotiations with that illegal group.
He added: “We remind the National Liberation Army that kidnapping is a criminal practice that violates international humanitarian law and that it is its duty in developing the current peace process not only to stop its implementation, but also to eliminate it forever.”
He continued: “We call on them to immediately release Mr. Luis Manuel Diaz, and we hold the armed group responsible for his conditions.”
The Colombian police have confirmed that they are ready to grant a huge financial reward amounting to 200 million pesos (Colombian currency) to anyone who provides important information to help rescue the father of Liverpool star Luis Diaz after his kidnapping.
