Colombia will not receive Monkeypox vaccines via PAHO

Since August, the Ministry of Health has confirmed that Colombia will be part of the group of 14 countries that have indicated their intention to purchase smallpox vaccines through a mechanism established by rotary bottom of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).

Caracol Radio consulted sources of that international organization and they confirmed it for now it will not be possible for the country to receive these vaccines through its cooperation mechanism International (revolving fund) and the Ministry of National Health is studying other alternatives to obtain the doses.

The government had made it official that, in that initial request, 5,600 vaccines were ordered to begin vaccinating nearly 2,800 Colombians. To date, there is no certainty on how the vaccines will be acquired.
