The Colombia U23 team showed heart and grip on Monday in the 2-1 victory over Venezuela. The Tricolor did not have much collective shine, but with the magic and the delivery of some highlights he managed to make a difficult game on the fourth date of the Pre-Olympic.
This was not going to be an easy match for Colombia and that was demonstrated by Venezuela since the first changes. With Yeferson Soteldo and Jan Hurtado, the Vinotinto wanted to prevail in the Tricolor field.
Colombia was also able to reach the opposite field with a lot of speed, but with little lucidity. In addition, when the Tricolor wanted to take the ball with an association game, it could not connect Nicolás Benedetti, Jorge Carrascal and Eduard Atuesta.
Hurtado was the man who caused more problems in the arc of Colombia and with his corpulence he fought strongly with the Colombian centrals. Carrascal, on the other hand, realized that the route was the middle distance auction: he tried and crashed it in the horizontal.
But at minute 45 there was a silence in Hernán Ramírez Villegas. Jan Hurtado managed them in the area and with a good chest control and the subsequent shot beat Esteban Ruiz to celebrate the 0-1 in favor of Venezuelans.
Colombia did not drop and only a minute later Benedetti went to pressure on an opponent, removed the ball and sent a ball at ground level for Carrascal to reach the second post and tie the game. Seconds later came the whistle that marked the end of the first half.
In the beginning of the complementary part Colombia left with a better collective game and removed Venezuela from its field.
The right sector, by Benedetti and Edwin Herrera, grew little by little until the goal was achieved. The steering wheel of América de México began the play in the center of the field, sent it to the bottom to the right side that faced the center of the area and sent a subtle high pass that well found Eduard Atuesta for the captain to send it to the bottom of the net. 2-1 and pure happiness in Colombia.
