What a nice gesture. The Cologne University Clinic is giving its employees a day off during the Corona crisis and explicitly thanked them again in a message on Friday (January 22).

Cologne University Clinic praises employees and gives “Thank you Monday”

“Since the carnival will be canceled in the regular form due to the corona pandemic, Rose Monday will also be omitted as a free traditional holiday in 2021,” said a spokesman for the Cologne University Clinic on Friday.

“However, in order to honor the extraordinary commitment of the employees in 2020, the board of the Cologne University Hospital decided that Rose Monday in 2021 will become a” Thank You Monday “as a day off for the employees of the Cologne University Hospital.”

The city authorities, on the other hand, had declared Rose Monday in the Corona year 2021 to be a normal working day. The corona pandemic will not allow the Cologne carnival with parades and celebrations in pubs, ballrooms and on the street this year, the city said.
