On Monday evening, Mayor Reker will appoint two personalities as Cologne sports ambassadors. In Cologne in 2007, the then national handball coach Heiner Brand and the record player in the handball Bundesliga Carsten Lichtlein experienced their personal “winter fairy tale”. The third World Cup title in your own country is still a milestone in German handball history.
Because of their sporting achievements and their connection to the city, Reker will appoint the two of them as Cologne sports ambassadors on Monday evening. With the men’s European Championship in 2024, another handball highlight will be added to our city.
