Köln –
Cologne’s gastronomy is flourishing. This is shown by numerous new additions to the Gault & Millau 2022 restaurant guide, which has just announced its ratings.
There are several restaurants that have been awarded two toques for the first time – which means a “high degree of culinary art, creativity and quality”. The restaurants Pottkind and Ito have been added. Also the Prunier, the Rays, La Cuisine Rademacher and the Sahila by Julia Komp.
This is how the Cologne restaurants react to their award.
Gault & Millau: The Vendôme receives the highest rating
There were also newcomers in the one-toque category (“highly recommended”): Christoph Paul’s, Platz 4 and the Austrian restaurant Scherz in Sülz. The Appare, the Cafe 1980, was also added.
Astrein, Le Moissonnier, Ox & Klee, La Société and the Maximilian Lorenz restaurant received three toques for “highest creativity and quality and the best possible preparation”.
The Vendôme restaurant in Bergisch Gladbach received five red toques and thus a newly introduced top mark. It remains the best in North Rhine-Westphalia and is one of the top three in Germany. The restaurant was downgraded from three to two stars by the Michelin Guide in March.
