Collision with Bajaj in front of City Hall, Student Motor Sport Driver Dies on the spot

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The traffic accident occurred on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, exactly opposite the DKI Jakarta City Hall Building, Gambir, Central Jakarta on Sunday (27/3/2022).

The Head of Traffic and Traffic of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Sutiyono, said the incident involved a sports motorbike with police number B 6747 WZA with a passing bajaj.

“From Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, the direction to Medan Merdeka Timur is across from the Jakarta City Hall, when you bump into a bajaj,” said Sutiyono when contacted on Sunday.

According to Sutiyono, the bajaj driver fled after being involved in an accident with the motorcycle.

“The bajaj is fuzzy,” he said.

Sutiyono said the sport motorbike driver was a student.

Furthermore, he revealed that the motorbike driver died on the spot after receiving help from the DKI Jakarta City Hall medical team.

“He died on the spot, had medical assistance at City Hall but could not be helped,” he said.

It is known, the accident incident was uploaded to the official Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro.

“09.40 B 6747 WZA motorcycle accident on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan (in front of DKI Jakarta City Hall), the victim is currently critical and receiving medical assistance,” wrote the account @TMCPoldaMetro, Sunday.

In addition, a black and blue motorcycle can be seen lying on the road and releasing liquid which is thought to have come from a fuel spill from the motorcycle.
