An educational assistant from a college in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) has just been imprisoned and indicted for rape. The 62-year-old man is suspected of abusing a 13-year-old girl. The Olympe de Gouges college is in shock. The girl’s father testifies.
Didier V. is very angry: “4 days ago, I would have killed everyone. There I calmed down”. This former mobile policeman who has just retired came from Dijon (Côte-d’Or) to see his daughter.
At the Olympe de Gouges de Montauban college, it is amazement. Just last week, the Educational Assistant (AED) was overseer. Until management decides to lay him off following various revelations. The 62-year-old respondent would have bought the silence of his 13-year-old victim by showering her with gifts. “I’m 57, my daughter is 13. But how is it possible not to ask questions? He brought her home when he has a kid…a girlfriend.”
For the father of the young girl, the surprise is total. “She said nothing to us, neither to her mother, nor to me. She spoke only when the judicial police officer questioned her. She denied it but he presented her with evidence. We also found some . Everything is written in his diary.”
Several witnesses saw the schoolgirl get into the car of the supervisor, including the mother. “My ex-girlfriend knows him very well. He was a lifeguard in a swimming pool in Montauban. She trusted him completely. He also took her to a sports center. We found jewelry and other gifts. The facts started last year. We know that he abused her on several occasions. For minors under the age of 15, there is no consent possible.”
Since Monday, March 20, the Montalban college has been facing revelations made by one of its 4th graders.
Parents of students informed last night are in shock, like this mother. “I cried because I thought it could have been my daughter. He was around and loved a lot. It’s even more scary. So I question my daughter to find out if she knows things. I was so stunned, that I still talk about it today.”
Since 8 a.m. this morning, the academy inspectorate has opened a support cell at the college with the presence of psychologists to collect the words of students and staff. “We are at the service of students, staff and familiesdeclares Pierre Roques, inspector of the Tarn-et-Garonne academy. If there is the slightest concern, the slightest anguish, let them let us know. We will accompany them. In view of the potential seriousness of the situation, we are really at their service.”
On the justice side, the investigation has only just begun. The educational assistant denies the facts and just speaks of a loving relationship. He was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention for rape on Friday at the end of his police custody. “I’m waiting for justice to do its job. For a crime like that, he must take between 15 and 20 years in prison. I want him to pay all the costs that it will take for my kid to be able to rebuild.”
Today, according to her father who will stay with her this week, “She is relieved, delivered to have finally been able to say everything. The whole family is in shock. I want those around this man to know what he has done and that he can no longer take action.”
