“Collective reason”: What is Latvia’s place in the world of the future?

For the next eight weeks, the cycle of analytical programs “Collective Reason” will seek answers to the question – what will Latvia be like in five, ten years? Since the Great Depression 13 years ago, Latvia has not had ambitious goals, and Latvia’s policy has been focused on survival and keeping up with its neighbors. On the other hand, we do not have common ideas – how to be the smartest, healthiest and happiest in Europe.

In the first program of “Collective Intelligence”, its hosts, journalist Jānis Krēvics and artificial intelligence developer and startup entrepreneur Zigmārs Bērziņš, focus on technology and digitalization, where artificial intelligence will play the biggest role. Right now, the world is in the midst of great change

in the axe. We have already created robots or artificial intelligence that can replace humans, so it is no longer science fiction. At the moment, there is a revolution of artificial intelligence, and perhaps this is also the time of opportunity for Latvia, because we have the mind and the brain.

Insights into future professions, the need to change lifestyles, the increase in average life expectancy, the autonomization of daily processes, etc. etc., all of which will be facilitated by artificial intelligence, will be provided by visionary Įrts Bērziņš. Together with an expert, the presenters of the program will discuss not only the world’s common course in technology development, but also Latvia’s experience – what we lack in order to be able to talk about development at the local level in the next ten years, and what are our strengths that could help promote it.

The project “Collective Reason” is financed by the Media Support Fund from the funds of the Latvian state budget. The production group SIA “Red Dot Media” is responsible for the content of “Collective Reason”. #SIF_MAF2022
