The Etablissement Français du Sang Grand Est in partnership with Rotary and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors is organizing the My Blood for Others collection on Wednesday, October 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. 30, at the Tilleul space in Gérardmer.
Donating blood saves lives!
Take action at Gérardmer’s “My blood for others” collection, at Espace Tilleul, on Wednesday October 9, 2024!
For this 9th edition, the Grand Est French Blood Establishment, Rotary and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Gérardmer, festive atmosphere. More than 160 people are expected during this collection day.
“My blood for others” collection, at Espace Tilleul, in Gérardmer:

For this 9th edition, donors will be able to enjoy a gourmet snack prepared by the Lycée des professions de l’hôtellerie et de la catering JBS Chardin de Gérardmer and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors as well as a program of musical entertainment imagined by Rotarians and Friendists.
This collection takes place a few weeks before the All Saints’ Day holidays, a tense period in terms of blood product reserves. So it is important that donors respond to this invitation to come and make this life-saving gesture.
As a reminder, the needs of patients are constant and blood products have a limited lifespan (42 days for red blood cells, only 7 days for platelets and 1 year to 3 years for plasma). It is therefore essential to donate regularly, throughout the year, to meet the needs of patients. Every day, 10,000 donations are needed in France!
Partners: the “My Blood For Others” operation continues to be the fruit of the commitment of numerous volunteers from the Rotary club, Innerwheel and the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Gérardmer, Xonrupt and Liézey. The City of Gérardmer (labelled as a blood donation partner) contributes to the organization of the collection by making its structures available and promoting it.
My Blood for Others: in 1998, Rotary suggested that the EFS launch the first “My Blood for Others” collection in Toulouse. Success is immediate. The operation has extended to other cities in France such as in the Grand Est in Reims, Metz and Nancy. Since its creation, more than 529,000 donations have been recorded and 1,160 to Gérardmer!
