Like last year, when the severe frosts reigned and our attention was kidnapped by the Christmas holidays, the free games giveaway continues this year too. So for the next 14 days we’ll be getting games from Epic every day, with rival GOG now joining in with their one-time free game offer.
- There are currently two free games available on GOG and the Epic Game Store
- You can catch the Horizon Chase Turbo arcade races on Epic until 5pm (December 17); then the menu changes
- You can get the King of Seas Pirate RPG until 3pm (December 19).
A game you can play GOG site until Monday at 15:00 is King of Seas, a title from indie studio 3DClouds that has quietly released for the past year and has so far garnered slightly above average user reviews (Steam – 57%, Metacritic 68/100) .
The title is mainly aimed at lovers of navigation and looting all living things that sail here. For those who like to sail one after another, the title features a procedurally generated world where you, as an aspiring pirate, set off to dominate the known waters and fight many battles and find lost treasures.
In case the first batch doesn’t resonate enough and your heart beats on the paved road, there is also a second option. This time it’s the very successful racing game Horizon Chase Turbo, which with split-screen co-op and a touch of 90s arcade games you will find Epic Games website until 5pm today (Steam – 95%, Metacritic 82/100).
