Hamburg – The shock of the colleagues on Spitalerstraße runs deep: Radio Hamburg legend Marzel Becker (58) has given up and has not been on the station since Tuesday.
On the day the farewell was announced, some even cried!

The music professional has been program director for more than 21 years, which is a record in the German radio landscape.
Now, after a total of 35 years of belonging to the station, suddenly the end! A total surprise, because RHH is the city’s most listened-to program, with around a million listeners a day.
What happened?
There was trouble with the shareholders about “programming positioning in the Hamburg radio market”.
However, agreement could only be reached on a contract cancellation. Marzel Becker to BILD: “The decision was difficult, but I can’t change my mind. We parted peacefully. I don’t know what I’ll do in the future. Now I’m going on vacation to Greece with my wife Sandra.”
Patrick Bernstein (55), RHH Managing Director since 2016, will take on the new tasks at the station.
