Several Cubans took to social networks to share the video of a woman who ended up unconscious on the ground after several pieces of debris hit her during the partial collapse of the roof of a portal in the capital municipality of Centro Habana.
According to several of these publications, the incident was recorded on Thursday, April 11, and the video shows the woman lying on the floor while several people scream around her for someone to call an ambulance.
After a few moments, a state car approaches and some of those present explain the situation to the driver. Others try to lift the woman and begin to drag her to the vehicle, leaving a blood stain on the ground.
After that, the woman was put into the vehicle and it drove away, all while several people who were around the scene were recording and calling on the phone.
The incident, which occurred on Reina Street, made Internet users highlight the lack of maintenance that the oldest buildings in the capital receive, which has made many of them become a danger to those who walk under them.
“The truth is that I am shocked when I see something like this happen”; “My God! The corner of my house. You can no longer walk anywhere in this Havana in total destruction” and “And Canel resolving. He says there are problems in the east, and Havana falling apart,” were some of the comments.
Other publications claim that the woman managed to be hospitalized, denying some online rumors that she had died as a result of the incident.
This information identifies the woman by the name of Victoria, who received 17 stitches for her injuries, although there were no fractures. Likewise, it was learned that she had relatives abroad.
“Through the comments in the population about the woman’s accident in the collapse, I found a young man named Roberto who knows her and offered me details. The lady’s name is Victoria, it happened yesterday. She received 17 stitches and no fractures, the cell phone belongs to a minor who also passed by there and thank God she is fine. “It’s all I have so far,” said influencer Adrián González García.
