From January 1, 2024, the Jeroen Bosch Hospital will collaborate with the Anna Hospital (Geldrop) in the field of medical microbiology. The collaboration stems from a shared vision that diagnostics and the associated advice form the basis for determining the most appropriate care for patients.
The medical microbiologists and laboratory staff carry out the medical microbiological examination for patients of the Anna Hospital and provide the associated consultative service. Patients from both hospitals can now benefit from the expertise and modern facilities. Sander Leenders, medical microbiologist: “Although patients usually do not see us themselves, they are our ‘real’ customer and our patients are central to everything we do. In addition, we are easily accessible for the care professionals of the Anna Hospital for questions about infections, bacteria, viruses, antibiotics.”
Best possible care and diagnostics
Sander Gerritsen, director of the Jeroen Bosch Hospital, emphasizes the importance of this collaboration: “By joining forces with the Anna Hospital, we can make care for our patients future-proof. Regional collaborations between healthcare institutions are very important in this regard. We strive to provide the best possible care and diagnostics. This collaboration allows us to share our expertise. We have been working with several hospitals, (care) institutions, GGDs and general practitioners for a long time and have been coordinating the integrated digital diagnostics in the North Brabant region for the past four years.”
Good research is the basis for good patient care
The Anna Hospital is also pleased with its new cooperation partner. Board member Astrid van der Put: “Jeroen Bosch Hospital has an excellent reputation in the field of prevention, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. Good medical microbiological laboratory research contributes to making the correct diagnosis. An important basis for the best care for our patients.” In the coming months, the hospitals will give concrete shape to the collaboration in the field of medical microbiology for patients of the Anna Hospital. In consultation with general practitioners from the region of the Anna Hospital, it is assessed what this collaboration can mean for them. The Anna Hospital will continue to carry out the other clinical laboratory tests itself.
